Top 3 Reborn Baby Fashion Styles

Today, I wanted to talk about one of my favorite topics…doll fashion! If you didn’t know already, I am a Graphic Designer/Illustrator for a company that specializes in infant/toddler textiles. In short, I design baby bibs and feeding products…and its a lot of fun! My job allows for me to do a lot of field research a.k.a window shopping. Its a part of my job to be on top of whats trendy in the baby and toddler fashion arena. Surprisingly enough, those same trends do carry over a lot to the reborn doll community! I guess we are all Mommas (and daddys!) at heart. πŸ™‚

The Organic Minimalistic Style

In recent years, the child rearing age group has been more environmentally aware and that has carried over to fashion. Many shoppers are now looking for clothing and items that are safely sourced. Organic cottons and similar fabrics are in high demand…they also can come with a high price tag. You can spot a lot of this baby style on Instagram with color schemes of oatmeal tan, khaki, browns, rustic oranges and cream tones. You may also find blues, purples, greens and lavender in more earthly/dusty color palettes, too.

The Bold and Bright Style

As far as reborn babies go, I see a lot of this style and I think it is fair to say that most collectors fit into this category at some point. With the interest in collecting reborn toddler dolls on the rise, this is a sweet spot when it comes to toddler fashion. Sketchy animal prints and fun/quirky quotes are trendy. I also have seen a lot of glitter and 3D elements added in on clothing and bibs. I’m a huge fan!

Themes in this category are making ordinary objects and animals into fun characters: dogs, cats, dinosaurs, robots, planets, and healthy foods!

The Soft and Sweet Style

Last, but not least is the soft and sweet baby fashion style. This style I’d say is most traditional and what you would expect when you think of newborn baby clothes. However, it is 2020 and the traditional look of baby items has gotten a new twist. Fun themes and elements have been mixed in with traditional striped patterns and florals. Pops of contrasting color can also be utilized here.

Out of these Top 3 styles, which is your favorite? I am curious to know where my friends and subscribers fall into the categories πŸ˜› Over the years I have been solidly into the Bold and Bright style, however I am taking an interest in the earth tones presented in the Organic Minimalistic style. Here’s a recent photoshoot of my big girl, Song wearing her bold and bright style. We can’t wait for Summer!
