Over the weekend I received my goodies from The Hazel Hues Co in the mail. I have been keeping an eye on this newly launched brand since it’s initial announcement in late October. The Hazel Hues Co is an online, Black-owned reborn baby shop specializing in luxe and limited clothing pieces. Currently in store is their first launch of Fall/Winter collection pieces ranging from cotton to chunky knit textures.

I have become quite a collector of baby knit sweaters over the last year. Usually I avoid winter baby wear because most fabrics used upset my asthma and allergies. The pieces I find that work for both baby and me are knit sweaters! I couldn’t pass up the chance to try out these beautiful chunky knits in bold color-block styles. I’d not seen anything like this in-store so I had to try it. Lucky for me, Sage had just arrived and she is the perfect size for these sweaters. The sweaters featured here are on the larger side; a good fit for small toddlers up to toddler sizes. (6-18 months)

The Color Blocked Knitted Sweater ($30 USD) is super soft and makes my doll even more cuddly. The size is loose and roomy so you can dress your dolls with t-shirts underneath for the layered look. Sleeves are long so no scratch mittens required! You can roll them up for a different look and style, too.

The Dreamet Onsie on Sage fits…like a dream!

Even though I was most excited for the Color Blocked Knitted Sweater, I was surprised at how much I really liked the fit and quality of the Dreamet Onsie ($15 USD)! This oversized t-shirt style one piece is perfect in accommodating Sage’s chunky arms and thighs. I initially thought the text was embroidered on, but it is a high quality screen print. The cotton material is silky soft and definitely on my list of faves. I want to get it in the Grey version next!

My favorite thing so far about The Hazel Hues Co is that the pieces are gender-neutral. All reborn collectors can enjoy choosing outfits for their dolls that will work for both boys and girls. This is great, as you can reuse outfits on all of your dolls in that size!

I find the price points here are higher than what I’m used to shopping for for a single item, but the quality definitely shows. I also had a mishap with signing up for an account on the website (I entered my e-mail in wrong!) but the customer service provided was great. They went above and beyond to make sure my tracking info was relayed to me despite my mistake. All messages/inquiries on sizing was answered promptly and courteously. Overall I am happy with my purchase and plan to shop again.

I’m greatly looking forward to their next release in April 2022.
