I have been enjoying my reborn baby Robyn so much, the passion for reborn dolls has been renewed. Towards the end of 2019, I felt a decline in my interest for reborn dolls. After having to sell quite a few of my favorites due to financial circumstances, I was a bit down. Nevertheless, I knew that my reborn doll collection would flourish again (I just didn’t know when). In that time, I put most of my energy into my ball jointed dolls. 🙂 I waited so long to take the plunge into that doll hobby, so spending dedicated time and effort into it was not a waste.
Now, things have come full circle! I am always drawn back to my reborn dolls. As the first few months of 2020 started to roll by, I found my list of expectant dolls…growing! Now I am happy to announce again for the second time in April…I am expecting a reborn baby girl! 😀
This cutie was completely unexpected. I was browsing on Ebay and came across this One-Of-A-Kind creation; limited edition Sailor Rose sculpt by Cassie Brace. The artist, Valerie, painted her in a unique vision..a baby with the skin condition of Infantile Hemangioma or Strawberry birth marks.

In my eyes, she is absolutely precious and I couldn’t be more excited to welcome her into my doll collection. I immediately put out a warning on Instagram. It’s a shame that not all depictions of babies are widely accepted in this hobby. If the ultimate goal of reborn artistry is to achieve realism, what way is more real than depicting babies that aren’t born with perfect skin, faces or limbs. All of God’s creations are beautiful.
This reborn baby reminds me so much of my custom made Tehya, who had a port wine stain birthmark on her eye and forehead area. I briefly thought of giving this reborn the same name, but decided against it. 🙂
It didn’t take me long to come up with a name for this cutie, as I had several saved up from the last reborn expecting period when Robyn was being created. Introducing…

Needless to say, I am beyond excited for Mila’s arrival 🙂 She is due to come in the mail this Wednesday, April 22nd. So you can expect a fun box opening video later this week, if all goes well with the post delivery time. See ya’ then!
–P.S. I later decided to change the spelling to Mila Raquel after a friend vote 😛
