I’ve posted on my YouTube channel quite a bit about my growing fashion doll collection of Rainbow High dolls, but I am just now realizing I hadn’t shared anything about them here! Let’s change that, today 🙂 If you want to check out the six core-characters from the Rainbow High doll line and online animated series, view them in my Dolls Gallery.
For starters, Rainbow High is a mass produced (and marketed) toy-line doll by MGA Entertainment. This company is also responsible for L.O.L. OMG dolls, Rainbow Poopsie Surprise, Bratz, Monster High, and several others you’ve probably seen on the toy aisles. Their products can be found at major retailers in the USA like Wal-Mart and Target. You can also buy them online at Amazon.com These dolls retail price range from $22-28 USD, depending on where you shop and any deals/discounts going on at the time. Currently released Rainbow High series are Wave 1, Cheer Line of Wave 1, and Wave 2 dolls. All characters from these releases have been seen in their animated series. I highly recommend checking it out for fun attention grabbing story…and to spot new character dolls that may hit the scene!
The concept of these dolls is centered around artistic fashion and style, with the characters’ setting being an exclusive high school for the Arts. Naturally, these dolls come with quality wardrobe pieces and overall style! Everyone is a buzz online with the release of Wave 3 characters featuring some pretty cool color schemes like minty green, peachy coral, and a deep gothic maroon! Enough about that though, let’s talk about the fun and creative ways doll collectors have been customizing their RH girls!
It was no surprise that these dolls would get attention for the various ways you could customize them. Collectors got crafty with Barbie a long time ago, followed up by the ever popular Monster High doll repaints. Now, there is a new and exciting canvas to work on! Being that RH dolls are known for their color schemes, collectors couldn’t wait to create their own colors that haven’t been seen yet. I am happy to have adopted four customized Rainbow High dolls to add to my collection! I’ll be sharing updates once they all have arrived in the mail.

Rosalyn “Rizzie” Sweetz
Just1PieceAtATime on Etsy // With help from some of the Facebook group members in the Rainbow High Adult Collectors group, I decided to name this cool girl, Rizzie Sweetz! Her adorable ombre lavender and peachy pink color scheme definitely encouraged a “sugar candy” name. I love her edgy and unique style with the septum nose piercing, earring chain and golden metal hoops in her hair do! The style reminded me of hip-hop dance..fitting for the name Rizzie! I’ll be creating a doll profile for her in my doll gallery soon with her details. The base doll for this custom was the Cheer line Sunny Madison doll.

Kendra Nichols
Danni’s Designer Dolls on Etsy // I’ve been following this artist’s work on Instagram for quite sometime. Her custom doll slots sell out FAST and so do her ready-to-ship dolls in her Etsy shop. I am so happy to have come across her announcement in the RH collector’s group mentioning this girl’s availability. In my mind, I envision Kendra as being an alum of Rainbow High; a cool, tech-savvy older sister to Karma Nichols. After all, Karma needed someone to teach her the ropes of Digital Media! In the future, I plan on adding more black wardrobe pieces to her look to amp up the sultry eyes and low-key goth elements she has. The base doll for this custom was Wave 2, Karma Nichols.

Raven Blackwood
lalaland on Mercari // I recently came across a collector who also sells her works on Mercari. This may be a collector who is still sharpening her skills with customization, but I like her style and bold face up looks 🙂 Meet Raven, Rainbow High’s newest Performing Arts and Theater junkie. This moody girl puts all her emotion into creative scripts that really shine on the big stage! In her spare time she enjoys brooding and writing poetry about heartache and loves lost…yea she’s THAT kinda girl 😉 Raven is often seen hanging out and brewing creative ideas with her twin sister, Roxie.

Roxxie Blackwood
lalaland on Mercari // Rainbow High’s newest Performing Arts and Theater major, Roxxie, is an aspiring actress. This girl is sweet, but has a sour side too! She’s full on drama and doesn’t reserve her theatrics just for the stage. In her spare time she enjoys creating original characters and stories with her twin sister, Raven. Her favorite pastime is being glued to the TV screen taking notes on the perfect horror movie scream.

Siren Brookz
Mia Darling of Darling Dollhouse on YouTube // Mia has grown popularity amongst RH doll customizers because of her detailed and informative YouTube video tutorials and walk-through for custom hair dye colors on the dolls. I was lucky enough to participate in a recent sale she hosted on Instagram for some of her customized dolls and accessories. I’m so happy to be adding this cutie into my collection. Meet Dulce! This girl is super sweet with a voice of an angel to match! She is greatly looking forward to learning more about music and song in RH’s Performing Arts program.

As much as I love the new releases of these beauties, the custom versions done by fans are just amazing! I hope to add more custom Rainbow girls to the ranks. I like coming up with their own little storyline in relation to the current one produced by MGA.
That’s all I’m chatting about today, doll lovers. You can catch updates on my custom girls (and their arrival!) on my YouTube channel or Instagram.
