Sage Elise // Realborn Joseph 3 Month size – Reborn by Amanda VanHutch of Milly’s Moon Nursery
Hey dollie friends 🙂
I’ve been enjoying my latest dollie arrival of reborn baby Sage. From the title of this post I’m sure you can already guess what I’ll be chatting about! The Realborn Joseph 3 Month size sculpt was created by Bountiful Baby. This doll is 3D modeled after a real baby at three months! Today I am sharing my thoughts about this kit and some helpful shopping info when it comes to clothing sizes. Let’s jump right in!

Just look at those adorable sausage fingers and toes!
Right off I will admit that the size of this sculpt took me by surprise, despite my research of it and watching YouTube videos of other versions. It is very much compatible to a small toddler being 23 inches long, however the baby-like features are the surprise! It is not often I see sculpts in this size with such young features. If you do not care for large dolls, I highly recommend you avoid this one, but if it’s your style you’ll be in dollie heaven!
The clothing size options for Realborn Joseph are plentiful, albeit confusing. When Sage first came home, my first task was to return items I had purchased for her, because they were too small! She came home with 6month size clothing that fit more snug than I’d like. Here is the sizing breakdown I’ve found to work best for me:

- Short Sleeve T-shirts……….. 12 month (Giranimals)
- Long Sleeve T-shirts………… 18 months (Giranimals)

- Pants (Non-stretch)…………..18 months (Any)

- Sandals…………………….. Size 2
Hats & Headwear

Stretchy materials like sweaters and leggings are your best friend
I am giving brand suggestions that are affordable and easily accessible. Once you get a feel of what works, you’ll be better equipped to guess the right size when out shopping at places that have off brand clothing like Ross, Marshall’s, TJMaxx and Burlington’s (which are some of my favorite spots!) When it comes to footwear you have to be cautious. This sculpt has a very chubby, round, and inward turned foot so you need room to accommodate. Don’t be surprised if you have to size up for more ankle room!
Overall, my best advice is to look for clothing materials that are stretchy and forgiving so you have wiggle room for those chubby arms and thunder thighs 🙂

On another note, I am going back-and-forth over the idea of getting this little one some rooted hair! I know once I add hair she will lose some of that babyish charm and will look closer to a young toddler, so I am weighing my options carefully. I came across the cutest photo of a real-life baby and thought this is what Sage would look like with my hair choice. The second photo is a lighter hair color option on another Joseph sculpt that I found.
Time will tell what I end up doing, but for now I am enjoying Sage just as she is.
